Client: FCO ServicesAccounting: First Set of Statutory Accounts Overview: Assistance was provided in establishing a robust opening balance sheet and the identification of accounting for the organizations fixed assets. Further advice and assistance was provided to ensure that the robust financial controls were implemented to help the organization progress forward. Conclusion: The organizations first Annual Report and Accounts to timetable were successfully produced without qualification. Link: FCO Services Client: National Probation ServiceTechnical Advice: Consolidated Annual Report and Accounts Overview: Significant issues had to be addressed in order to enable the organization to produce the annual consolidated resource accounts for its forty two regions; each area had its own full accounting system. Conclusion: Advice and expertise was provided to regional areas through identifying and resolving issues. It was also ensured that timetables and deliverables were achieved before a deadline. Link: National Probation Service Client: The Health Protection AgencyCosting: National Clinical Health Costing System Overview: This multi-site organization required a national costing system, which needed to be developed and implemented within a defined timescale. Whilst working in a close association with the organization, a National Clinical Health Standard Costing System was developed and implemented over a twelve month timetable. The standardized approach and understanding of the cost drivers facilitated the opportunity for the organization to review processes, improve efficiencies and to reduce the cost base. Conclusion: The training and ownership was successfully transferred to enable the eight laboratories to regularly review and update the cost data base. Link: The Health Protection Agency Client: National Health Service ProfessionalsFinancial System Design: National Finance System Strategy Overview: This newly established national organization had a mixture of financial systems that were inadequate to serve the immediate needs of the organization. Following a review of the current and future requirements of the organization, a plan and strategy needed to be conducted to deliver appropriately integrated financial systems and financial controls which would be addressed to the board. Conclusion: The proposed plan addressed both the short term and long term requirements of the business. Link: National Health Service Professionals Client: T & D AutomotiveBusiness Design: Greenfield Just in Time Manufacturing Venture Overview: A full business plan was provided to obtain shareholder, board and financial institutions approval and funding for a multi-million pound bumper manufacturing facility. Key staffs were recruited and embedded stringent financial controls and procedures for the business. A full standard cost enterprise resource planning system was also implemented. Conclusion: Successfully negotiated life time contracts with General Motors and major suppliers. Client: T & D IndustriesChange Management: World Class Culture Overview: Following the successful multi-site implementation of a fully integrated manufacturing system, led a group wide change of culture in the areas of team working, continuous improvement, planning and control, new product development and strategic planning. Whilst working with Oliver Wight Consultancy, Key Performance Indicators, sales and operational planning, strategic planning, continuous improvement and team working was introduced across the group. Conclusion: Significant and measured improvements were seen in record accuracy, stock turns, on time in full performance and velocity. Client: DefraPrince2: Project Management Overview: Prince2 methodology was implemented to set up plan. Several projects were project managed at this point. The key project was to ensure the delivery of unqualified Resource Accounts of a major complex government department, where management of deliverables and responsibilities was important. Realistic detailed plans with clear deliverables, timelines and responsibilities were agreed upon. This Improved communications and procedures to deal with critical emerging issues. Conclusion: The department successfully developed an unqualified set of accounts on time and delivered its first set of Government Accounts. Link: Defra National Probation ServiceBusiness Case: National Business System Overview: An externally produced Business Information Systems Feasibility Study was reviewed for a National Business System; this was required by the National Probation Service. Advice and the actions required to successfully pass the system through Gateway Zero were also provided. Conclusion: A timetable prepared to a high standard was made for the project, along with the Terms of Reference document for provision of consultancy for the business case and procurement strategy.
